Happy 5 months Ryan!!!

Our little man is 5 Months Old!!! Its soo hard to believe that we are now
five months into our journey!
I am very thankful that we are FINALLY settling into some sort of normalcy.
Ryan’s health is the best that it has ever been thanks to Dr. L!!
Ryan had his four month shots today. Poor thing had 3 injections!!
He sported his Taz Band-Aids very well!!
I sure wish I knew what the infant equivalent of ‘ouch’cream was!
After the past two days worth of injections he sure deserves it!!

On a Lighter note. . .We now have our ‘happy’ baby back!!He and Daddy have been having ‘Daddy’ time during the night while I warm his bottles.
They are too precious!I almost hate to wake them. . . .
ALMOST, he is on MY pillow!!

Synergist

Ryan had his second RSV shot this morning. As always he was a little trooper!!

We will see the pediatrician tomorrow for our check-up post hospitalization!
He may or may not be receiving his 4 month immunizations.
Ryan is growing fonder of his boppy pillow daily!
He is enjoying his time with mommy and daddy before bedtime!

We absolutely LOVE our little man and are enjoying every minute of him being back home!!!

First Night!

I’m very happy to report that we all had a much better first night
home from the hospital than the last!!!!!
We decided that we would hold Ryan out of church this morning to allow him a little more time home before being around a large group of people.
Ryan didn’t seem to mind. He was happy (for the most part) to explore his play mat!!
Our little stink apparently did NOT like facing away from the TV.
He worked. . .
And worked. . .
And worked. . .
And worked. . .
And worked. Some more before he finally turned himself 180 degrees clockwise!!

Going Home. . . Again!!

After 18 very long

Stressful,

Exhausting Days. . . .

Ryan dawned his own little Red wagon

And Came Home. . . .

AGAIN!!!

Ryan has many new regimens. He is now taking thick it mixed within his feeds. He has been averaging 7-12 minutes on each feed. He will still eat every three hours for now.
He is a HUGE fan of Music. . .and will be resting with music much more often.

Ryan was soo excited that Daddy was able to join us today for his second homecoming!!

I have to thank Gammy for making me get out of bed this morning and Join her and Dean for a shooting class. It was a GREAT way to relieve stress! I enjoyed watching my silhouettes have tighter groupings than a lot  of the men!!

Education

We are on track for Saturday!!

Ryan has had a great day/night!! He is taking all of his feeds with ease! His oxygen levels have been great AND the APN said that his CO2 has been the lowest that they’d seen it!!
Ryan ‘endured’ another car seat test this afternoon.

I say Endured because he DETESTS! The car seat!!
He was required to complete 1.5 hours in his car seat.

They do this to insure that the seat will not cause any problems to their breathing/heart rate/pulse ox. We also learned that our seat is definitely NOT on the recall list if we were wondering.
While Ryan was being tested Gammy and I had a little ‘studying’ of our own
to complete. We learned all about car seat safety and nutrition.
The car seat video although outdated. . Was very informational.
Gammy held him for a while before it was time for shift change and for us to leave and head home. At times Ryan is too smart for his own good. He has figured out when Mommy goes to take him from Gammy and burrito him that that means we are leaving. This is one of the many faces I see when he realized it is time for his family to leave.
I have to be honest it breaks my heart that he ‘knows’ we are leaving. I’m just trying to look ahead to tomorrow when we get to bring him home again!!
On a lighter note . . . We made a ‘necessity’ trip to Baby’s R US after we left the hospital.
We picked up a few ‘essentials.’ J
Dean also picked out a car seat for the Jeep. Seeing as how the Jeep has cloth
sides the car seat had to be the very ‘best’ it could be!!
I swear it was like a women shoe shopping!! In the end we found a very
safe seat for Ryan in Daddy’s jeep!! (and YES Gammy is DOSE have a cupholder!!)

Discharge Planning!!

Today Ryan is taking ALL of his feeding by mouth!!  His nurse took his
feeding tube out before his first afternoon feeding!!!

The Doctors have written their official “prepare for discharge” orders! The nursing
case managers are working on coordinating and schedule all of his
appointments and getting his feeds/thick-it arranged.
He was a little ham this afternoon!

He had the BEST faces today!!
Gammy was treated today!
Ryan surprised her with his new onsie!!
Overall Ryan is doing great! He will go home on 0.5 liters oxygen at 100%.
He could be weaned lower but the doctor wants to give his lungs the
extra time to continue to grow and heal.
As of right now we are looking at possibly coming home Saturday!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!

NG!!!

Ryan had a very very good night!! His oxygen stayed very well throughout the night. The nurse moved his feeding tube from his mouth to his nose!!He has been doing very well with his feedings! OT worked with him this morning and he is taken his feeds in less than 15minutes!!
Mr. Jennifer came to visit with Ryan today. He had his eyes wide open and looking around when she visited! We are soo very thankful for all of our visitors and very thankful for all their prayers!!
Ryan accidently ‘watered’ his onsie this afternoon so the nurse naturally had to give him a bath! I LOVE his hair after a bath. He is the CUTEST!! Little fuzz ball!!!
