Wide Awake

Ryan is still doing very well off of his oxygen! The doctor didn’t write any orders for the day!

Mommy and Ryan had a very special visitor today. Auntie Paula came to see us both!

He did so well when she held him. I’m very lucky. He is a very happy baby.

His physical therapist has been working with him to take a bottle. She said he has a very strong sucking reflex and both her and the nurse thinks that once he has the strength to take more bottles a day that he shouldn’t have any problem.

It was funny. When I hold him they normally start his food and he ‘practices’ on his pacci while he is being fed. Today he made the most upset face I’ve seen from him and spit his pacci out!

He was dissatisfied to say the lease!

We laughed so hard once we figured out what was going on. My normally happy baby was ‘put out’ to say the least. The pacci didn’t have formula on it for him to eat! Poor thing he just didn’t understand!

Mommy wasn’t the only one with a surprise today. Daddy normally gets to the hospital after Ryan’s 5pm feeding and he is often fast asleep. Tonight Daddy was able to stay and see Ryan wide awake before his 8pm feed!

Daddy said this ‘made his day.’ He has heard us talk about Ryan being awake and interacting but he hasn’t been able to see it himself.

Ryan was weighed again last night and is up 15grams. He now weighs 1520!
