Right On Track!

We’ve spent the entire day “learning” to care for our precious boy!! Ryan had a good night. He is still taking all of his feedings by mouth!!

Doctor N did however change him back to the preemie nipple. Apparently there is mixed feelings about sending babies home on the preemie nipple but Doctor N says that ALL the MD’s agree here that he is a chronic baby and if he is taking all of his meals with the preemie nipple then he will stay with the preemie nipple. They are also giving him more time to take his feeds. Normally they say that after 30minutes that a little one uses more energy to eat than is gained at the feeding but he has to pace himself and his breaths and that it is acceptable in his case to feed up to an hour.

Ryan has been eating all his attention up this week!! His Auntie Lesha came to visit him at lunch today!They have some pretty insane conversations! Their facial expressions crack me up!!

Ryan tried his best to stink his daddy out tonight! He literally filled (emphasis on FILLED) Four diapers while Dean was feeding him his bottle this evening!!

I’m going to have to watch which phone calls I take when I’m with Ryan. I received a pretty crummy and downright tacky phone call right before shift change. Ryan must have picked up that I was upset. He screamed his poor little heart out. We spent several hours attempting to calm him afterwards. Hopefully Ryan will continue to eat well and we will stay on track to Discharge HOME Friday!!!!
